Gautama Buddha(563 B.C- 483 B.C) also tried to liberate the society like Mahavir. He strongly opposed social inequality and crusaded against ritualism. After deep contemplation he realized that
1. Human life is full of suffering
2. Desire or lust is the cause of these suffering.
3. one can put an end to these suffering
4. the way to achieve this is good conduct
These are called the four noble. Buddha has shown the Asthtangamarg or eight marg which consists of right view, right resolution, right words, right action, right living, right effort, right thinking and right concentration.
In order to follow these eight marg, buddha had shown five rules
1. Ahimsa- Not to Kill
2. Satya:- Not to lie
3. Asteya:- Not to Steal
4. Indriya Sanyam:- Not be be unchste
5. Not to consume intoxicants
Gautama Buddha organized many “sangh” which were made from the groups of Monks and Nuns, who carried the message of Gautam Buddhas to people through the medium of Pali(a Vernacular Language). Gautama Buddha’s philosophy has profoundly influenced not merely the Indian Nations but for the world.
