Wed, 11/11/2009 - 10:14 | pravin Jana Gana Mana is written by the great Rabindranath Tagore, and was originally composed by Ram singh Thakur in 1911 and was first sung at the Indian National congress on 27th Dec, 1911.
Jana Gana Mana was officially announced as the Indian National Anthem on January 24th, 1950 by the Constituent assembly, just two days before the Indian Republic day.
